Sample Projects
At current, the projects below are the only active projects. The GIS projects are open for subscription while the Mapping projects are not, and are provided for information purposes only. Any of our project types are open to having custom projects. If you are interested in a custom project, you can find more information in the services section under GIS - MapGuide or Special Mapping, or you may contact us directly with specific questions, to start a new project, or to subscribe to an existing one.
GIS Projects
Lake Holiday Information
This started out to be our pilot project. This project is our typical GIS project that is listed on the GIS page, that makes available most any information imaginable for each lot in Lake Holiday only.
Local Area Subdivision Information
This is an extension of our Lake Holiday Information project. This project is our typical GIS project that is listed on the GIS page, however, contains information on the lots in the local subdivisions. Currently, the subdivisions are locally in the Sandwich area, including rural areas, but will be expanding to the other local communites. Lake Holiday will soon be included in this project.
Mapping Projects
Yorkville Schools
This is an on-going project for the Yorkville School Disitrict as additional school buildings are needed, for which we provide the mapping for the overall district and inner-district boundaries. These maps are used for their own planning purposes and other miscellaneous information.
Cemetery Projects
Genoa Township Cemetery-Busse Addition
The Genoa Township Cemetery Board purchased approximately 14 Acres of land for the site of a new cemetery. The cemetery was purchased from the Busse Family with the understanding that all of the Busse Family currently in the other cemetery will be moved together in a special area designated for them. We worked with the cemetery board in the planning and platting of the new cemetery.
The entire property has been platted and recorded in the Recorder's Office for DeKalb County. The first phase has been monumented and staked for easy location of placement of gravesites. As a part of this project, we are providing our services for internet access to the public of all lots platted, who is the owner of the lot and who is buried there. Additional information is also made available to the public.
This is being done because the new law requiring all cemetery managers to post new burials on the state web site is fine for them, however, it does not provide any access to the public of where, when and who was buried in the cemetery. We feel the problem with the Burr Oak Cemetery is that the public did not know who was buried where.
St. Patrick's Cemetery, Bristol, Il.
The Cemetery Board responsible for the daily operations of ST. Patrick's Cemetery, in Bristol wanted to update things to meet the new laws governing cemeteries. At the same time, they were experiencing a extreme shortage of lots to sell for anymore burials. We researched the original legal description of the exising cemetery as far back as we could and completed a Boundary Survey of their property.
Besides completing the Boundary Survey, we located many corners of the burials as headstones were marking and attempted to recreate the overall existing lot layout. The original maps did not provide any helpfull dimensions except for a note made by some prior caretaker that said he believes the lots are 4o inches by 10 feet. There were no isle widths or driveway widths shown.
After compliling the existing map of the cemetery, we worked with the board in concepting and laying out the next phase of lots and even some future phases. Concrete monuments and iron stakes were set
establishing the new lots and provided an overall map of the cemetery as required by State Statute and covered it in plastic for durability. Because the map used by the caretaker was so large and very difficult to handle, a book was generated with the lots and the names as shown on his large map making it very easy for him to carry and work with.
